Job Description
Work Scope/What the CW will do:
· Evaluate how we can leverage free logging and tracing tools to provide a great experience to our developers and save money
· Discover tools and solutions to reduce complexity in pipelines and application deployments
· Troubleshoot issues related to Kubernetes and developer apps running in Kubernetes and working quickly to resolve them and communicating with teams.
· Maintain and improve the software delivery platform. This includes finding improvements that could be made and generally keeping things up to date.
· Be available for work off hours and on weekends
· Create/update Jira tasks
Our current related tech Stack: Nutanix, VMware, Kubernetes, helm, Buildkite, Istio, Styra, OPA, GitHub, Hashivault, Bitbucket, DataDog, F5, Styra
Required:
· Min High School Diploma and 8-10 + years of progressive experience in DevOps Engineering in an increasingly challenging environment
· Experience working in small teams and mature start-up Orgs that has given them ability to lead process or tools improvements
Must have Technical Qualifications: Senior level DevOps Engineer/Architect (willing to do hands on-Individual contributor role)
· Ability to dig into complex problems in a microservices environment.
· container platforms such as Kubernetes
· Virtualization technologies such as Nutanix, VMware, kvm etc.
· Server configuration tools such as ansible
· Infra as code tools such as terraform
· scripting with a language such as python
· Secrets/Certificate Management (HCP Vault/ HashiCorp Vault, SSL, PKI, etc.)
· Build environments – Jenkins, GitHub, Code* Services
· Networking – F5 (knows how to do load balancing on Kubernetes)
· Pipeline/Workflow (Buildkite, etc.)
· Source Control – Bitbucket, GitHub
· Experience troubleshooting application errors, whether apps built in-house or app we use as part of our infrastructure
Soft skills : Articulate, personable, can lead with diplomacy and tact
Any preferred experiences/ skills : Experience with OPA, DataDog, MuleSoft, Kafka
